Oba filma žanrovski predstavljau spoj horora, fantastike i drame.
Macedonian Film with Ethno Themes in American Production Filmed in Serbia
An older witch and her successor are in conflict. By transitioning from one body to another, they survive and blend into (social) surroundings through centuries and decades until one of them becomes fed up and decides to end the decades-long envy.
The cast includes Serbian, Macedonian, and international actors such as Noomi Rapace (known for the film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo).
The film is a good example of how a complex story can be told with minimal dialogue, resolving the theme of the position of women in a patriarchal society. It also showcases how actors, whose native language is not the language of the film, can be effectively used (in parts where foreign actors appear, there is minimal dialogue).
The beginning of the film (a girl who spends almost a decade and a half living in a cave isolated from the outside world) and some other motifs are reminiscent of the Spanish film All the Moons. Both films represent a blend of horror, fantasy, and drama genres.
